Turbinate reduction using radiofrequency technology
Turbinate reduction is a surgical procedure used as a therapeutic measure to treat anatomically altered turbinates when they impair breathing. Using radiofrequency technology, this minimally invasive corrective measure can significantly improve nasal breathing—without affecting the shape and functions of the nose as an organ of smell. This is because the targeted application of high-frequency bipolar/monopolar currents can reduce body tissue on the one hand and gently eliminate excess mucosa or narrowing in the ENT area on the other.

Botulinum therapy for teeth grinding and clenching (bruxism)
How does botulinum work for bruxism?
Botulinum toxin is injected into the chewing muscles to temporarily reduce their activity. This relaxes the muscles and can reduce or stop nighttime teeth grinding and clenching.
Course of treatment:
The injections are performed on an outpatient basis and take only a few minutes. Most patients find the procedure minimally uncomfortable and describe a slight prick or tingling sensation.
Duration of effect and repeat treatment:
The effect of the treatment usually lasts for several months. After that, a repeat treatment may be necessary to continue controlling the symptoms of bruxism.

Snoring consultation and outpatient polygraphy
“Cardiorespiratory” polygraphy is an examination in the field of sleep medicine. If you have loud snoring and/or pauses in breathing at night, feel tired or exhausted during the day, or suddenly fall into brief episodes of microsleep, a sleep analysis should be performed. As part of the sleep analysis, the causes and effects of sleep disorders as well as daytime tiredness and sleepiness are examined. A special area here is polygraphy, also known as sleep apnea screening, which can identify sleep-related breathing disorders. Using a so-called polygraphy device that the patient uses at home for one night, the most important sleep parameters are measured. The evaluation, which we will explain to you in a joint consultation, provides us with information as to whether a nocturnal breathing disorder—so-called sleep apnea—is present.

Laryngeal cancer screening
Laryngeal cancer (laryngeal carcinoma) belongs to the large group of head and neck tumors and is one of the most common tumors in the ENT field in Germany. The larynx is located in the throat and separates the airways from the food passage.
Early detection through regular screening is the best possible “treatment” to prevent cancer from developing. Laryngeal cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the upper airways. Annual screening and early detection are important for at-risk patients.
The main risk factors for laryngeal cancer include:
- Smoking
- Alcohol
- Heartburn
- Inhaling pollutants such as asbestos, nickel and chromium
- Viruses (e.g., human papillomaviruses)

Allergy diagnostics and therapy
Sneezing, chronic runny nose, impaired nasal breathing or itching in the eyes, nose and throat—allergies can cause a wide range of symptoms in the throat and head area. If an allergy remains undetected and therefore untreated for a long time, chronic conditions such as bronchial asthma can develop.
A thorough assessment of symptoms and their course, as well as diagnostic procedures such as skin tests, provocation tests and blood analyses, are used to diagnose allergies. Based on the severity of the diagnosed allergy, we will work with you to find the right therapy. This may include preventive, behavioral or medication-based measures. Immunotherapy may also be an option for treatment.
Do you suffer from any of the complaints mentioned above? Then please do not hesitate to talk to us—we will be happy to help you at our ENT practice in Sindelfingen.

Ultrasound examination of the head and neck area
An ultrasound (sonography) is performed with a transducer placed on the skin—this makes it possible to see structures beneath the surface of the body. The examination is safe and painless for the patient. It provides us with valuable information, because with the help of ultrasound we can examine disorders or diseases in the head and neck area at our ENT practice in Sindelfingen. This includes examination of the soft tissues of the neck, lymph nodes, salivary glands, neck vessels, paranasal sinuses, tongue, larynx, as well as skin changes.
